Karting Race of Remembrance will see teams of 4-6 go head to head in a karting endurance race over two hours, including a pitlane remembrance service mid-race, to raise money for Mission Motorsport – the Forces’ Motorsport Charity.

Race of Remembrance information

Since 2014, on Remembrance Sunday a Mission Motorsport community has come together in a motorsport pit lane, to bow their heads and fall silent to the notes of the Last Post.

Veterans, racers, teams, officials, volunteers and families… Race of Remembrance is about community - the motorsport community marking remembrance in a unique, inclusive and uplifting way.

Race of Remembrance has been held perched on the cliffs above the Irish Sea at Anglesey since 2014. When the pandemic hit 2020, a British GT pitlane stood, heads bowed in remembrance at Silverstone, and by online gamers and spectators across the world pausing to join a 'drive in' service at Thruxton. Race of Remembrance returned in 2021, bigger than ever with the first Karting Race of Remembrance taking place at Thruxton Kart Circuit and the 2023 edition will run on Sunday 12th November.

Mission Motorsport Information

Mission Motorsport aids in the recovery and rehabilitation of those affected by military operations by providing opportunities through Motorsport and the Automotive Industry. Using motorsport as a recovery sport, their programs include car control, go-karting, track days, sprints and endurance racing round the clock, as well as 4x4 activities. Mission Motorsport's Training Wing is an approved Institute of the Motoring Industry (IMI) approved training centre and delivers short courses through to Level 3 Diploma courses, enabling service leavers to bridge the gap between military service and second careers as civilians, beyond injury. The charity also helps those leaving the military to find employment in the automotive industry. As Relationship Managers to the UK Automotive Industry, Mission Motorsport manages opportunities for the wounded, injured and sick, as well as on behalf of a wider audience of service leavers and veterans.
