The Tracks

Club Circuit - 130-365m

Photo of club circuit

Our newest track, the Club Circuit was designed with Arrive & Drive and Junior (8yrs onwards) sessions in mind. Having 4 different configurations (130m, 146m 210m and 365m) and the ability to run independent of our two other tracks makes it a very flexible circuit.

National Circuit - 900m

Photo of national circuit

The National Circuit is our 900m long track and is by far the most popular. The track, being 7 metres wide, will easily allow 3 and sometimes 4 karts abreast into most of the corners. This track also includes our unique flyover, a first for an outdoor kart circuit!

Full Circuit - 1100m

The Full Circuit is an extension of the National, by the inclusion of the loop and hairpin in the north east corner. Great attention has been paid to the driving experience, having kerbs in the right places, suitable drainage, and a fast and exciting track design.

Thruxton Full Circuit

The Full Circuit is the longest circuit we have here at Thruxton. An extension of the National Circuit, the Full Circuit includes the 'loop' - two long straights connected by a hairpin - bringing the total distance to 1100m. Like the National Circuit, this track includes our flyover - a first for a UK outdoor kart circuit - and uses our 13bhp Thunderkarts. The lap record for the full circuit is 59.21s.

Track Notes

Track Notes

Try to carry a lot of speed through this corner and use all of the track on the exit. Slight adverse camber as you turn in, which can lead to under-steer.

Track Notes

Track Notes

You need to be smooth approaching this corner especially while braking. There's a slight right-hander before the slow left, any violent braking can cause problems changing direction between the two corners - very easy to braking too late and run wide at the exit.

Track Notes

Track Notes

A right-hander following a left. Need to be slow through the left so you can get the kart in a good position for the right which will enable you to carry more speed out of the corner.

Track Notes

Track Notes

A banked right-hander followed by a hairpin. You need to carry a lot of speed through this corner, but it's important that you don't carry too much otherwise you end up too tight for the hairpin that follows. Straight-forward hairpin, try to get on the power as early as possible.

Track Notes

Track Notes

Probably the best corner on the circuit for overtaking, braking hard and late to out-braking the kart ahead. Extra caution should be taken in the wet.

Track Notes

Track Notes

Chicane. Need to get as close to the bollards as possible (excessive use of the kerbs will incur a stop-go penalty). An important corner because it leads onto the back straight, vital you get it right to carry as much speed as you can out of the corner.

Track Notes

Track Notes

A possible overtaking opportunity, especially if you are faster than the kart in front through the previous chicane. The slightest braking before the corner and if taken correctly you should be able to carry the speed through the right and left-hander.

Track Notes

Track Notes

Very quick chicane. Can be taken without braking, but you have to be on the correct line

Last corner. Very fast and flowing. Try to carry as much speed as possible on to the start/finish straight to ensure a good lap time.
